How a Good Bedroom Design Can Boost Your Confidence

Do you know that your bedroom is responsible for who
you are right now.

Your own bedroom is the place which you see last when you
go to sleep and also is the first place you see when you
wake in the morning.

These two are the times of the day when you are most
receptive to receive any messages, good or bad.

Hey, what did I say? Good or Bad. Yes, it’s true, anything
you see, feel, touch, smell, listen to at this time of the
day will contribute in making your “personality”, no matter
whether it works for you or not.

That’s why you can make use of this fundamental reality to
unconsciously program yourself almost automatically, by
taking care of your bedroom. In short you can “design”
your bedroom as a self help tool.

The term “design” in itself has a much wider scope. Design
is not just color scheme, materials, lighting, furniture and
its arrangement in the bedroom. It includes the personality
of the person who is going to use it.

While in a bedroom, a person is more relaxed, feels more
secured and is open minded to accept more positive
messages. That’s why it is necessary to understand the
personality of a person before designing his/her bedroom.

His/her likes/dislikes, moods, what motivates him/her can
affect the entire bedroom design strategy. This design strategy
includes the type of furniture to be used (iron, wood, cane
contemporary), color schemes to be used (cool, warm, composite)
types of flooring materials(tiles, carpets, wooden floors,
PVC floors), the overall theme of the bedroom(oriental,
contemporary)

That’s why a good bedroom design is one which creates a
feeling of security for it’s owner. Use of natural elements
such as plants/flowers can greatly add to the motivational
capacity of a bedroom space. Since plants and flowers
already have a beauty of their own, can greatly enhance the
aura of the bedroom.

A bedroom which is nothing but a full mess, is harmful for
development of a healthy mind. A room full of clutter and
unnecessary garbage gives a negative message to your
subconscious. As far as possible, office work, computers
should be avoided in a bedroom.

If there is a scarcity of space and such situation arises
all care must be taken to keep the work clean and healthy.
This requires a little effort, but payoffs are huge if done
on a regular basis.

I hope this article was informative and positive.

Trends: Nature Inspired Bedroom Designs

When you’re working on the interior design scheme of a bedroom, chances are you want it to be comfortable and relaxing. This leads many people to decide they want to create a bedroom design that is inspired by nature. Even with this general direction, many people have a hard time figuring out exactly where to start or what they should incorporate into a nature inspired bedroom design. Here are a few tips and tricks on where to start and what to look for.

Where to Start

The truth is, the jumping off point for creating a bedroom design can be anything. Some people prefer to start at the top and work their way to the bottom; while others work from the ground up. These are two easy methods, but they can quickly stop you dead in your tracks.

Instead, find a particular item or object that you’re really drawn to. One that speaks volumes about what you’re looking to achieve in the space. It could be a duvet, a nightstand, a throw rug, wallpapering, wall art or even a bedside table lamp. Then, draw your inspiration from this. You can easily come up with entire nature-inspired bedroom designs using a single piece. Draw the color palette from your inspiration piece and go from there. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to create a nature inspired bedroom design once you’re working from inspiration.

What to Look For

The truth is, ‘nature inspired’ does not necessarily mean it’s all about flowers and fauna. It can be a marine-inspired theme, or simply a color scheme that is drawn from natural hues.

For a color palette, look for colors that you would expect to see occurring naturally outside your window. This does not necessarily translate into muted olive greens or other soft, muted tones. If you’re drawn to the red poppies in your garden, or that bright yellow hibiscus, then you’ve been inspired by nature and you can easily incorporate that into your bedroom design.

Next, you’ll need to find furniture that works for the space. When working to create a nature inspired bedroom design, you’ll want to steer clear of pieces that feature too much ornamentation. Instead, opt for pieces with clean lines and fluid, organic shapes. Opt for natural wood tones rather than painted finishes. While nature isn’t necessarily simple, it tends to be interpreted as ‘natural’ and ‘simple.’ This should be seen in your furniture choices.

Of course, depending on your personal style, it’s also perfectly acceptable to choose carved wooden pieces that feature ornate but natural botanical details for your bedroom design. This is especially true if you are going for a tropical style. However, keep in mind that this does not necessarily blend well with other nature-based styles, nor is it for everyone.

Finally, you can start working with different accessories to complete the nature-based scheme of your bedroom design. If you’re stumped on what to look for, there are a few basics that work no matter what. Pressed leaves or flowers in beautiful, simple frames are an elegant touch to a nature inspired bedroom. Woven baskets, metallic accents and so forth, all work well in these types of spaces.

Once you know where to start, a nature inspired bedroom design is easy to create.

Creating Functionality In Modern Bedroom Designs

In modern bedroom designs, the second most important thing, next to a relaxing atmosphere, is the functionality of the room itself. To make a room functional, the needs of the owner need to be carefully considered. How many clothes do they have? How much closet space? Is there a television in the room? How many windows are there? Is there a connected bathroom or does the owner want a vanity table? So many factors need to be considered that owners are often confused and hire an interior decorator to help.

As you could probably guess, the most important part about making a bedroom functional is the bed. A bedroom is designed to relax and sleep in, so choosing the right bed for the room is extremely important. There are many factors involved when choosing a bed, including owner preference, room size, and the design of the rest of the room. Putting a huge bed in a small room makes it feel cramped, but putting a small bed in a large room makes it feel huge. While you may think a bedroom that feels huge would be a good thing, it is not always easy to relax when there is too much space. After the bed is decided upon, clothing storage is the next most important aspect of the room. The dressers must be big enough to store the owner’s clothing, but not so big as to make the room feel cramped. Again, room size and design need to be considered. To make the room modern, the furniture must also be modern, while at the same time being functional. For example, a dresser with faux drawers along with the real ones, while modern, is not the optimal storage space for someone with a lot of clothing.

Modern bedroom designs often try to “hide” closets and television sets, incorporating them into the modern design, while still making them functional. For example, in a modern bedroom with a tropical theme, the closets or the entertainment center which houses the television set may be painted to look like trees, or perhaps the ocean, depending greatly on their design. Why try to hide these things? Maintaining a modern look with a relaxing atmosphere means making sure the design has good use of space. Sometimes in smaller bedrooms, hiding furniture in this way is done to help make the space feel bigger.
